Engineer II Reg Eng Spain (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain. The role is office-based during the first six months; afterward, working from home one day per week may be available subject to applicable arrangements. Work may also include production plants, repair centers, customer facilities including oil fields, and meeting locations.

What you will do

• Review and process customer applications, requests, and engineering projects.
• Select mechanical seals, seal support systems, couplings, filtration solutions, and other suitable products from the John Crane portfolio.
• Prepare engineering proposals, technical specifications, CAD documentation, drawing-office requests, and general arrangement and detailed drawings with designers.
• Perform calculations involving seal leakage, heat generation, balancing temperatures, flow rates, and other rotating-equipment applications.
• Support technical investigations, failure analysis, troubleshooting, non-conforming-part decisions, retrofit projects, and 3D scanning activities.
• Deliver technical presentations and training with Sales and collaborate with global engineering teams on continuous improvement and technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred. Chemical Engineering may also be considered.
• Understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical seals, pumps, compressors, or hydraulic systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, understand customer requirements, and apply engineering principles to practical problems.
• Experience with Solid Edge or SolidWorks.
• Computational simulation knowledge such as FEA or CFD.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish; both languages are essential.
• Proactive and accountable approach, strong communication and listening skills, flexibility, teamwork, and a customer-focused mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanical seals, pumps, or related industrial equipment.
• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or other process industries.
• Exposure to automation, artificial intelligence applications, or digital engineering tools.
