Mechanical Engineer – Regional Engineering (Spain)

Location: Spain. Office-based during the first six months; afterward, working from home one day per week may be available subject to applicable arrangements. Work may also involve production plants, repair centers, customer facilities including oil fields, and meeting locations.

What you will do

• Review and process customer applications, requests, and engineering projects.
• Select suitable mechanical seals, seal support systems, couplings, and filtration solutions from the John Crane portfolio.
• Prepare engineering proposals, technical specifications, CAD documentation, drawing-office requests, and technical presentations for customers.
• Perform calculations related to seal leakage, heat generation, balancing temperatures, flow rates, and other rotating-equipment applications.
• Support technical investigations, failure analysis, troubleshooting, non-conforming fabricated-part decisions, retrofit projects, and 3D scanning activities.
• Collaborate with designers, Sales, international engineering teams, employees, and customers on technical solutions, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred, while Chemical Engineering may also be considered.
• Understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical seals, pumps, compressors, or hydraulic systems.
• Experience with mechanical seals, pumps, or related industrial equipment; experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or other process industries is particularly valuable.
• Experience with Solid Edge or SolidWorks, computational simulation such as FEA and CFD, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and apply engineering principles to practical problems.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish are both essential.
• Proactive and accountable approach, strong communication and listening skills, flexibility, teamwork, and a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work in environments that may include high noise levels and to use approved personal protective equipment when working in production plants.
• CV must be submitted in English.
