Head of Finance (Education Development)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; flexible and hybrid working information is provided.

Salary: £47,389–£58,225 per annum depending on experience, plus a £4,000 market supplement.

What you will do

• Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for university capital and long-term maintenance activity.
• Develop monthly capital and long-term maintenance reports, exception reports, management information, and financial analysis for senior committees.
• Reconcile the University Fixed Asset Register each month and oversee the Capital budget and five-year plan balance sheet and cash flow.
• Chair monthly University Capital Finance Working Group meetings and attend Capital Project committees as the Capital Finance representative.
• Manage staff supporting capital activity and collaborate with Finance teams and budget holders across the University.

Requirements

• Recognised CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of the accounting requirements of FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Experience working in finance within a large, complex organisation, with the ability to collaborate proactively across organisational boundaries.
• Experience leading, managing, and developing teams, with strategic thinking and leadership capability.
• Experience in a business partnering role and delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience leading accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for capital projects.
• Experience implementing lease accounting under IFRS, including IFRS 16.
