Network Observability Team Lead (Telecom)

Location: São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; full-time, onsite role.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the network observability team, including planning, hiring, performance reviews, coaching, career development, and delivery ownership.
• Set technical direction and engineering standards for observability platforms, making architecture decisions for scale, resilience, security, and data quality.
• Build and operate large-scale pipelines collecting metrics, logs, traces, flow data, and events from systems and telecom infrastructure.
• Develop ETL pipelines, datasets, dashboards, monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, and actionable incident workflows for network performance and service health.
• Oversee traffic capture and aggregation using packet brokers, TAPs, traffic mirroring, and virtual TAPs.
• Automate deployment and lifecycle management with Infrastructure-as-Code and containers while collaborating with network, platform, operations, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineers, mentoring, planning delivery, providing feedback, working with stakeholders, and taking formal people-management responsibility.
• Ability to own architecture, lead design reviews, make pragmatic trade-offs, and troubleshoot complex production systems hands-on.
• Strong Linux skills, experience running distributed production systems, and familiarity with OSS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Tempo, and Grafana for infrastructure and network telemetry.
• Experience with Vector, Telegraf, Fluentd, Kafka, SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, and IPFIX.
• Experience building data models and ingestion, enrichment, and transformation pipelines with Apache NiFi or similar.
• Experience with NumoData formerly EXFO Nova, Radcom, or similar telecom service-assurance tools, plus packet capture and traffic analysis.
• Experience with SNMP traps, Alertmanager, and OpenNMS or similar monitoring tools; ClickHouse or Vertica; PostgreSQL or MySQL; and Redis.
• Strong knowledge of telecom network architecture, telemetry, traffic mirroring, TAPs, virtual TAPs, and packet brokers; Python, Go, Ansible for PNF/VNF deployment, and Helm for CNF environments.
• Professional English, clear technical communication, and a degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• OpenTelemetry, gNMI, gRPC streaming, OpenConfig, eBPF, or custom instrumentation.
• High-volume ingestion, real-time analytics, and large-scale event processing.
• Predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and trend analysis for monitoring.
• Kubernetes, AWS EKS, OpenStack Magnum and Heat, Kubernetes Operators, Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD.
• High-availability observability platforms in private or public cloud and analytics database tuning.
