Industrial Engineer II (Manufacturing)

Location: Stuarts Draft, Virginia, United States; onsite manufacturing role.

Salary: $65,000–$100,000 annually, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze production, material consumption, scrap, yield, downtime, quality, inventory, and cost data to identify waste and material usage variance reduction opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, reports, baselines, targets, and repeatable analytical methods using product, machine, process, shift, material, and time-period data.
• Prioritize and lead a portfolio of waste- and MUV-reduction projects from analysis and business-case development through implementation and sustained-results verification.
• Evaluate bills of material, standard usage, process parameters, routings, and actual consumption to identify unfavorable MUV drivers and corrective actions.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functions while meeting safety, quality, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead trials, change control, training, savings verification, and small capital or expense projects that sustain improvements in waste, yield, labor, capacity, or cost.

Requirements

• Ability to analyze manufacturing data and convert findings into measurable process improvements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling, pivot tables, trend analysis, and visualization.
• Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, statistical software, or equivalent data-analysis platforms.
• Experience analyzing scrap, yield, MUV, standard-versus-actual usage, cost variance, OEE, and process capability.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, bills of material, routings, inventory transactions, and controlled manufacturing requirements.
• Knowledge of statistical process control, process capability analysis, measurement system analysis, and designed experiments.
• Ability to build business cases, lead cross-functional projects, communicate effectively, and verify sustained financial and operational results.
• Entry-level experience and above are considered; a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required when applying with an Associate’s Degree or technical certification.
• English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, especially measurable reductions in scrap, material usage variance, yield loss, or conversion-cost drivers through data-based process improvement.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification or equivalent demonstrated application.
• Experience with manufacturing execution, ERP, process-performance tracking, or data-historian systems.
• Project management experience or Project Management Professional certification.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, controls, vision systems, robotics, web or film handling, or heat-sealing processes.
