Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring)

Location: Iași, Romania; hybrid working model.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain applications across their full lifecycle.
• Build reliable services for billing and payments using clean, secure, and well-tested code.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and identify technical risks and improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure service reliability and operational stability.
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and workshops while collaborating with Product, UX, Agile roles, and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day collaboration.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and comfort working with multiple programming languages, ideally including Java and Spring.
• Current knowledge of AI tooling and best practices for software development.
• Strong understanding of clean, maintainable code and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on experience designing AWS-based systems, microservices with REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with code reviews, testing, test strategy improvement, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for reliable automated delivery.
• Confident use of Git or a similar version control system in a collaborative environment.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modelling, and SQL, plus familiarity with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB.
• Basic knowledge of web technologies and modern frontend frameworks, ideally Angular; experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and extensive exposure to agile processes, particularly Scrum.
