Tactical Communications Lab Test Engineer (Defense)

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid work when possible.

What you will do

• Analyze technical documentation and test requirements to define rig test cases, procedures, and requirement specifications.
• Generate test datasets, simulation requirements, test scripts, initialization files, and tactical scenarios before test execution.
• Execute rig test procedures, including crypto and software loading, using specialized laboratory equipment such as MaTE, AIDASS, TIGER, MIGATO, and bus analyzers.
• Assess system behavior after testing, prepare test reports, and support root-cause investigations for problem reports.
• Manage equipment and system issues through configuration and tracking tools including DOORS, Octane, and FTNet.
• Specify and qualify test tools for decoding, recording, translation, emulation, and process automation.

Requirements

• Degree or Master’s in Telecommunications, Radiocommunications, Electronics, or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 2–6 years of experience in system testing, IV&V activities, or hands-on rig testing; demonstrable testing experience is preferred over pure design.
• Deep understanding of communications systems under test, including tactical datalinks such as Link 16/22 and VMF, mission communications, SATCOM, Connectivity/ALIMS, and JRE.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, including MIL-STD-1553 bus analyzers, sniffers, datalink simulators, and test support systems.
• Knowledge of requirement partitioning, test-data creation, and traceability management.
• Proactive problem-solving, adaptability, rigor, autonomy under strict project milestones, and ability to work in multifunctional teams.
• Advanced technical and general English and Spanish.
