Senior .NET Engineer (AI)

Location: Lisbon, Porto, Braga, or Coimbra, Portugal; hybrid with 2 days per week at the office

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance microservices using .NET 8, focusing on scalability and clean architecture.
• Build asynchronous, event-driven workflows with AWS SNS and SQS, ensuring data consistency and system resilience.
• Lead the integration of Large Language Models into core applications by connecting .NET backends with Python-based AI logic.
• Design and develop high-throughput real-time data pipelines using AWS Data Firehose and Data Streams.
• Maintain code quality through unit and integration testing with xUnit and WireMock.
• Collaborate with SRE teams on deployments through GitHub Actions and cloud infrastructure management with Terraform, using AI-assisted tools while overseeing security and efficiency.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in C# and .NET Core / .NET 8, including strong knowledge of framework internals.
• Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications with AWS services, including SNS, SQS, S3, and ECS.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed systems patterns, including Pub/Sub, Competing Consumers, and Idempotency.
• Proven experience with Redis or Valkey for caching, state management, and performance optimization.
• Experience or demonstrable interest in LLMs and Python, including RAG systems or OpenAI/Anthropic API integrations.
• A test-first mindset with solid unit and integration testing experience.
• Familiarity with Docker, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
• English proficiency at B2 level or above and confidence communicating in a fully English-speaking work environment.
