Senior AI Solution Engineer

Location: Vila Nova de Gaia / Porto, Portugal; hybrid with 2 days per week in the office

Salary: €28,000–€52,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate business problems into AI use cases and technical solutions.
• Design and implement solutions using Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and agentic AI systems.
• Develop microservices with Flask, Django, or Spring for Java.
• Apply machine learning concepts, Azure AI services, and DevOps practices.
• Document solutions, support technical handovers, and collaborate with engineering, data science, and platform teams.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to Agile delivery using Scrum or Kanban.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience covering the full engineering lifecycle.
• Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, agentic AI systems, and machine learning implementation.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and AI services, DevOps, and microservices development.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot and other AI-powered developer tools.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• AI/ML engineering certifications, including Azure AI Engineer, Google Cloud ML Engineer, or AWS Machine Learning certifications.
• Generative AI certifications or training.
• GitHub Copilot Certification.
