TL;DR
AI Engineer (.NET / Azure AI) (AI/Generative AI): Building production AI integrations, backend APIs, and transcription, summarization, extraction, and filtering pipelines with an accent on .NET/C#, Azure OpenAI, transformer models, and RAG patterns. Focus on deploying AI models, designing orchestration services, and using agentic development tools to solve complex engineering and debugging challenges.
Location: Fully remote, with candidates required to live in Portugal or be legally qualified to live and work there; locations listed as Lisbon and Coimbra
Salary: €27,785–€43,450 gross per year

What you will do
- Build orchestration services and backend APIs with .NET and C#.
- Integrate Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, and ChatGPT-class models into production systems.
- Develop generative AI workflows for summarization, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text, and transcription.
- Implement RAG and AI search patterns, APIs, pipelines, and backend integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on multidisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related software engineering roles.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong professional experience with .NET/C#, .NET Core, and .NET 6/8.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, ChatGPT-class models, generative AI, RAG, and AI search patterns.
- Understanding of transformer-based architectures and general machine learning principles, with experience deploying models to production.
- Fluent spoken and written English; must live in Portugal or be legally qualified to live and work there.
Nice to have
- Experience with Whisper.NET, Azure Cognitive Services, or Azure Speech.
- Experience using Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot for development, refactoring, and debugging.
- Experience with Python/Django, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Ansible, or Git.
