Senior Manager, Design Delivery (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Europe; remote. Periodic travel to project sites, customer meetings, and design partner locations across EMEA is required.

Salary: £140K–£200K or €166K–€237K, plus potential equity and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Own project design delivery from the initial brief through detailed design, ensuring scope, quality, budget, and programme requirements are met.
• Support the Delivery team through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, including technical queries, design clarifications, submittals, and approved changes.
• Establish project design briefs with customers and internal Product, Engineering, Operations, and Delivery stakeholders, covering requirements, scope boundaries, acceptance criteria, and responsibilities.
• Lead external multidisciplinary design partners, manage design programmes, stage gates, deliverables, interfaces, approvals, performance, and technical information release.
• Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and GPU compute infrastructure design, applying hirify.global’s Reference Design and adapting it to site-specific requirements.
• Embed construction sequencing, prefabrication, modular delivery, logistics, maintainability, commissioning, handover, and health and safety requirements into the design while managing risks and design changes.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Significant experience managing multidisciplinary design delivery for large-scale data centres, AI factories, or similarly complex infrastructure.
• Experience taking projects from concept through detailed design and supporting procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong understanding of the interfaces between building infrastructure, power, cooling, controls, and compute, including high-density AI and GPU facility requirements.
• Experience translating customer, product, and operational requirements into clear design briefs and coordinated project deliverables.
• Proven ability to lead external consultants and coordinate internal technical specialists, suppliers, and contractors around a common delivery programme.
• Experience managing design programmes, consultant scopes and fees, stage-gate reviews, design changes, and technical information release.
• Understanding of adapting reference designs to site conditions, local requirements, and project-specific needs while maintaining portfolio consistency.
• Strong commercial judgement across design quality, capex, schedule, constructability, reliability, and operability.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination, common data environments, document control, offsite manufacturing, prefabrication, and DFMA.
• Confident communication with customers, technical teams, suppliers, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative and accountable approach, including resolving competing priorities, challenging incomplete information, and driving decisions through to closure.
• Willingness to travel periodically across EMEA.
