Senior Android Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote, Netherlands; work in the EU

What you will do

• Design and build Android features for company accounts, cash flow management, banking transactions, payments, card issuance and management, and AI-powered accounting automation.
• Build responsive mobile interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
• Own code quality, performance, stability, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Backend, Mobile, ML/AI, QA, Design, and Product in a cross-functional domain team.
• Drive architecture and technical decisions, challenge assumptions, and mentor engineers.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and mobile engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin knowledge; Java knowledge is optional.
• Deep understanding of OOP, SOLID, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with MVI, MVVM, and MVP presentation-layer patterns, including choosing the appropriate pattern for the context.
• Hands-on experience with RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, Dagger 2, Hilt or Koin, Retrofit, Cicerone or Jetpack Navigation Component, and Jetpack Compose.
• Practical experience with Firebase, including FCM, Analytics, and Crashlytics.
• Production experience with feature-module architecture.
• Confidence with Git and GitLab, including setting up and maintaining GitLab CI/CD.
• Clear, concise communication in English with technical and non-technical audiences, plus a product-focused mindset.

Nice to have

• Fintech or financial-product experience.
• Mobile security best-practice knowledge.
• Experience profiling and optimizing UI performance, including overdraw, Compose recomposition, and smooth 60/120fps rendering.
• Experience with Android Profiler, Perfetto, Baseline Profiles, or similar tools.
• Published Google Play applications and an active GitHub profile.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM tools, AI-powered IDEs, agent environments, prompts, skills, behavioral rules, and workflow integration.
• Understanding of model capabilities, limitations, context-window management, and AI-generated output verification.
• Awareness of AI security risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, and safe handling of untrusted inputs.
