Functional Safety Intern (Automotive)

What you will do

• Architect hardware solutions that enable product compliance with safety standards including ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
• Work with technical marketing, design, quality, and other engineering functions to derive functional safety requirements for automotive standards.
• Own and oversee ISO 26262 documentation implementation in JAMA.
• Perform safety analyses including DFA, FMEDA, and FTA.
• Support safety assessments with third-party assessors.
• Partner with technical marketing engineers on mutually agreeable design specifications and participate in ISO 26262 standards conferences.

Requirements

• BS or MS in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or automotive engineering.
• Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal ICs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with people across functions and regions.
• Strong time-management skills supporting on-time project delivery.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, take initiative, and drive results.

Nice to have

• Understanding of the functional-safety-relevant IC product development process.
• Automotive or industrial experience.
• Experience with ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
• Experience with MCU or sensor development.
