Hardware Engineer (EMC, Design Verification) (Automotive): Executing and analyzing electromagnetic compatibility tests on telematic systems with an accent on automotive standards, measurement techniques, and regulatory compliance. Focus on creating test strategies, performing measurements with lab equipment, interpreting results, identifying risks, and supporting design optimizations through simulations and root-cause analysis.
Location: Hybrid in Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Availability to work flexibly from office and remotely. Willingness to travel up to 10%.

What you will do
- Analyze normative requirements, OEM standards, and derive EMC test cases from system/hardware/software specs.
- Define EMC concepts, support schematic/PCB design, and use simulation tools for performance assessment.
- Create test strategies/plans, set up test environments, and perform manual/automated EMC measurements.
- Evaluate results, identify malfunctions/risks, support root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers.
- Document tests via reports/logs, manage data traceability, and present findings in meetings/reviews.
- Continuously improve test processes, participate in FMEAs, and conduct additional verifications like electrical/temperature tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years in EMC testing, validation, and measurement technologies.
- Hands-on experience with component/system/software testing, schematic/layout tools, simulations, and MS Office.
- Strong verbal/written English skills.
- Analytical problem-solving, creativity, clear communication of technical topics, and cross-functional collaboration.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with HFSS simulation tool.
- 3+ years in HW development/verification of analog/digital applications.
- Knowledge of automotive EMC requirements and telematics interfaces (PCIe, UART, Ethernet, I2C, I2S, SPI, USB).
- Experience with NAD network simulator.
