System Engineer - Technical Safety & Regulatory Compliance (EV Charging)

Total compensation: from €64,000 gross per year, including a 30% variable bonus based on goal achievement.

What you will do

• Manage the technical safety and regulatory compliance framework for EV fast-charging products throughout the product lifecycle.
• Define, interpret, and maintain applicable norms, standards, and regulatory requirements for R&D products and equipment.
• Perform system-level risk analyses and safety assessments, and coordinate mitigating measures with R&D and system engineering.
• Prepare and maintain risk assessments, test plans, declarations of conformity, and other regulatory documentation.
• Support market-entry analyses by identifying regulatory gaps, risks, and required compliance activities.
• Coordinate certification and approval processes with accredited laboratories, notified bodies, and external compliance partners.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in technical safety and regulatory compliance for electrical or electronic products.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance for complex systems, preferably EV charging infrastructure, power electronics, or grid-connected products.
• Experience with CE conformity procedures and European directives, including LVD, RED, and the Machinery Directive where applicable.
• Experience supporting type approval and certification processes with test houses and authorities.
• Fluency in English and German and/or Italian is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Eichrecht, MessEG, or EV regulations.
