Associate Manager, Development Services - Purification (Biotech)

Location: Tuas, Singapore; office-first with remote work permitted for 20% of the time, or one day per week.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 9–10 scientists and analysts performing downstream purification, process development, process characterization, and viral clearance activities.
• Drive late-stage development, process characterization, and viral clearance work while ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery.
• Manage team, equipment, and system resources in line with department sales plans, including project, risk, escalation, and resource management.
• Coach and develop team members and act as a subject matter expert in key technical areas.
• Oversee documentation, review, and approval of reports and protocols, ensuring EHS, cGMP, audit, quality, and compliance requirements are met.
• Present data to customers and support proposals, presentations, lab tours, business development, and cross-functional project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree, PhD, or equivalent qualification in a relevant science field.
• Relevant experience in downstream process development, process characterization, or viral clearance.
• Laboratory-scale experience with affinity and ion exchange chromatography using the AKTA system, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and viral reduction strategies.
• 2–5 years of experience leading a team in a people manager role.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of cGMP regulations.
