Engineering Manager, Engineering Experience (AI)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Hybrid work with 2 recommended office days per week; remote work is available under the stated workation policy, including up to 90 days per year in the EU and limited global periods.

Salary: €100,300–€121,400 annual gross, excluding 8% holiday pay.

What you will do

• Lead an engineering team building internal platform products used daily by hundreds of colleagues and an expanding population of AI agents.
• Shape team vision, scope, quarterly objectives, delivery plans, dependencies, milestones, and measurable adoption outcomes.
• Create golden paths for service setup, resource provisioning, test environments, troubleshooting, and other common platform journeys.
• Maintain engineering quality through sound principles, meaningful SLOs, fast incident response, honest post-mortems, and visible technical-debt reduction.
• Grow engineers through 1:1s, development plans, coaching, mentoring, and clear feedback while keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Contribute to technical strategy and hirify.global’s AI adoption roadmap, including repository AI-readiness, evaluation frameworks, and hosted coding agents.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering teams that build platforms, developer tooling, or internal products.
• Demonstrated accountability for delivery through planning, estimating, delegation, and shipping through a team.
• Hands-on fluency with modern AI-assisted development, including coding agents, MCP integrations, agent skills, and evaluations.
• Ability to assess where AI agents genuinely help and where they generate noise.
• Strong understanding of developer experience and how to reduce total work rather than move it elsewhere.
• Ability to coach, mentor, give effective feedback, and address underperformance with clarity and care.

Nice to have

• Experience with internal products, platforms, or platform-as-a-product operating models.
• Experience running agentic or LLM-powered workloads in production, including sandboxing, guardrails, evaluations, or agent observability.
