AI Engineering Manager

Location: Amsterdam; must be based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.

hirify.global is a financial trading company building a new AI team within Data and AI.

What you will do

• Lead planning and delivery for the AI team, including roadmaps, priorities, sequencing, dependencies, risks, scope trade-offs, and stakeholder communication.
• Understand business processes and identify where AI or improved tooling can create value.
• Take AI use cases from initial idea to live solution, including business cases and success metrics.
• Coach and develop engineers through career planning, promotions, feedback, performance conversations, and regular one-on-ones.
• Build and maintain the team through hiring, headcount planning, staffing, team building, and early conflict resolution.
• Work with Engineering, Trading, Quant, Tech Leads, and Staff Engineers to design and roll out AI solutions and improve delivery practices.

Requirements

• Experience analyzing and improving business processes, including distinguishing when AI is appropriate from when a better tool is sufficient.
• Strong project management experience covering roadmaps, sequencing, dependencies, and risk in a fast-moving environment.
• Sufficient technical background to participate credibly in technical discussions and earn engineers’ respect.
• Experience leading software engineers, developing them, and managing their performance.
• A track record of delivering software through a team while balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
• Strong people skills, including coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
• Good judgment in hiring and developing people.
• Genuine interest in AI and the ability to assess relevant developments.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Trading and Quant.
• Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.
