Radio Frequency Hardware Engineer (Robotics)

Location: San Francisco, CA, US; in-person 5 days a week

Salary: $139,400–$205,000 USD base pay, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Develop RF, mixed-signal, and mechanical solutions for unmanned platforms.
• Design RF hardware and wireless testbeds for system validation across the product lifecycle.
• Lead system-level design verification, lab testing, and over-the-air testing.
• Investigate EMI and desense issues using EMC probes, shielding tests, grounding checks, layout reviews, simulations, and empirical measurements.
• Validate sensitivity and coexistence across LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and UWB against industry standards.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and mentor partner teams on EMI mitigation and cross-functional debugging.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF engineering, applied electromagnetics, or wireless systems.
• 6+ years of hands-on RF hardware design and testing experience for consumer mass-produced products.
• Strong knowledge of RF front-end design, desense analysis, system-level optimization, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces including MIPI CSI/DSI, PCIe, DDR, SDIO, or eMMC.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and RF test and measurement equipment.
• Experience with EM simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or ADS, plus strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
