Data Scientist (MX)

Location: Fully remote within Mexico

What you will do

• Own data science projects from problem framing and method selection through modeling, validation, and presentation of results.
• Build and maintain predictive models, analytical pipelines, certified data products, scores, and features using Python or R, SQL, and dbt on Databricks.
• Design, run, and interpret experiments, including hypothesis formulation, sizing, and evaluation of inconclusive results.
• Shape the data science roadmap and prioritize work based on measurable impact on churn, usage, and revenue.
• Partner with embedded analysts and the Data Platform team to drive adoption, data quality, and upstream product reliability.
• Mentor analysts, contribute to code reviews and team standards, and maintain reproducible documentation.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of professional experience in data science, applied statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience independently owning projects from ambiguous requests through delivered results.
• Strong SQL skills and fluency in Python or R.
• Solid knowledge of statistics and experimental design, including test limitations.
• Ability to prioritize work based on business value and communicate technical results to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience as the only or one of very few data scientists on a team.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and dbt.
• Exposure to production machine learning systems, recommendation engines, or MLOps.
• Experience with subscription or SaaS businesses, especially churn, retention, and usage analytics.
• Familiarity with data mesh or distributed analytics operating models.
