Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Remote anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City for occasional office events

What you will do

• Design, implement, and communicate causal analyses across the hirify.global.com-to-hirify.global Home Loans funnel.
• Apply statistical modeling and advanced analytics to predict customer behavior and evaluate product and operational changes.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define measurement frameworks, retrieve data, and turn findings into recommendations.
• Prototype analytical pipelines and develop them into production-grade data sources.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to improve tooling, documentation, and analytical quality.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with statistical modeling and inference, including selecting appropriate proven methods.
• Experience delivering analyses or models that are repeatedly used by the business.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience equivalent to BS plus 5 years, MS plus 3 years, or PhD plus 1 year in data science, statistics, applied science, or a related quantitative field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation design, power analysis, and multiple-testing considerations.
• Experience with causal inference methods such as difference-in-differences, synthetic controls, propensity score matching, or uplift modeling.
• Exposure to web or app analytics, statistical or machine learning packages, and business-focused modeling.
• Experience with data engineering pipelines and tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Spark.
• Exposure to mortgage, fintech, or ecommerce domains.
