Principal Data Scientist (SaaS)

Location: Remote, with the listed role location in San Francisco, United States. hirify.global can hire in countries where it has a legal entity.

Base salary: $171,063–$223,332 in Zone C, $185,490–$242,168 in Zone B, or $206,100–$269,075 in Zone A, depending on location. Additional benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity may apply.

hirify.global develops collaboration software, and Loom is its async video product with integrations into Confluence and AI-generated transcripts and summaries through Rovo.

What you will do

• Partner with product, business, and cross-functional teams on strategic product and business problems.
• Develop hypotheses and apply quantitative analysis, statistical methods, and experimentation to test them.
• Identify opportunities to improve Loom products and business performance, influencing product roadmaps with insights and recommendations.
• Forecast and monitor key product metrics to measure product success and understand trends.
• Use data to quantify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and guide product development.
• Present clear, compelling data stories and recommendations to company leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and another data manipulation language, such as Python or R.
• Expertise in data storytelling and at least one visualization tool, such as Tableau, R-Shiny, MicroStrategy, SAP BusinessObjects, or Looker.
• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts including regression, A/B testing, clustering, and probability.
• Experience leading analytics projects with measurable impact on business strategy and performance.
• Experience advising, presenting to, and partnering with senior executives.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in data science or a related field.
• Understanding of the SaaS business model and its key metrics.
