Lead Software Engineer, AI

Location: Hybrid in Eagan, Minnesota, United States; other listed locations include Frisco, Texas; Toronto, Ontario; and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Work from anywhere is available for up to 8 weeks per year.

Base compensation: $127,400–$236,600 USD for eligible US locations; $140,000–$175,000 CAD for Ontario, Canada. Annual bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Set technical architecture and direction across agent infrastructure, internal tooling, and production reliability initiatives.
• Architect and build scalable AI agent systems using modern LLM APIs, agent SDKs, orchestration, and runtime infrastructure.
• Design tracing, automated evaluations, quality monitoring, and drift detection to identify regressions before release.
• Improve production deployment through progressive rollouts, feature flags, earlier quality signals, and safer release practices.
• Lead cross-cutting design reviews and technical decisions across concurrent initiatives.
• Mentor senior engineers and partner with product and engineering leadership on architecture and sequencing.

Requirements

• Extensive experience architecting and shipping production software, including hands-on AI/LLM-powered or agentic systems.
• Experience with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks or SDKs, and agent-to-tool integration protocols.
• Strong backend fundamentals in distributed systems, service architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with production reliability, observability, monitoring, evaluation pipelines, incident response, and regression detection.
• Experience leading architecture for developer platforms, plugin or extension systems, or integration ecosystems.
• Experience with progressive delivery, shift-left quality practices, managed agent runtimes such as AWS Bedrock AgentCore, and mentoring senior engineers.
