Lead Java/GCP Developer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka.
• Build and support scalable REST APIs and event-driven solutions using asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Design data models and optimize performance for Bigtable and related cloud databases.
• Own project-level technical delivery and collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, product, business, and technology stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical mentoring, and project leadership.
• Identify opportunities to use approved AI-assisted development tools while maintaining data security, regulatory compliance, and engineering accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years of software engineering and enterprise application development experience, including 3+ years leading development team members and partnering with business and operational stakeholders.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed applications, RESTful APIs, J2EE, web services, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with GCP, cloud architecture, Kafka, Bigtable or similar NoSQL databases, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle or MySQL, DB2, database procedures and triggers, Git, Maven, Swagger, API testing, and Agile development.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Terraform, BigQuery, observability tools, API gateways, JWT, and cloud security.
• Experience with fraud technology and financial services platforms.
• Knowledge of digital assets, tokenization, digital wallets, blockchain ecosystems, digital payments, or digital asset custody.
• Understanding of tokenized deposits, digital asset lifecycle management, and emerging digital banking technologies.
