Senior Solutions Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Understand customer workloads, technical requirements, business challenges, and existing infrastructure.
• Design scalable, high-performance solutions based on VAST technologies and complex enterprise environments.
• Build and present technical demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, reference architectures, and implementation plans.
• Deploy, configure, test, and validate VAST storage across customer, cloud, laboratory, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and virtualized environments.
• Benchmark workloads, analyze bottlenecks, optimize storage performance, and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, cloud, application, and Kubernetes issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Support, customers, and partners while creating documentation, automation, and reusable technical assets.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Solutions Engineering, Systems Engineering, Technical Consulting, or another customer-facing technical role.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, data center architectures, storage technologies, and NFS, SMB, and S3 protocols.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including networking, compute, storage, and hybrid architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, CSI, container networking, and application deployment.
• Experience with storage performance benchmarking, Linux and Windows, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, identity management, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, analytical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• AI/ML infrastructure, GPU environments, or high-performance computing experience.
• Hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud, high-performance networking, RDMA, or NVMe over Fabrics experience.
• Kubernetes storage, CSI, databases, analytics platforms, or data-intensive application experience.
• Automation with Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Large-scale storage, performance engineering, workload characterization, or benchmarking experience.
