Network Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote work opportunities with flexible working hours. The role involves U.S. export-control compliance, including providing citizenship and permanent-residency information to determine whether government authorization is required.

Hydra Host is building Brokkr, a bare metal management and AI Factory marketplace that helps independent datacenters monetize infrastructure inventory.

What you will do

• Design and implement network automation tools and frameworks for configuration, deployment, and monitoring across partner datacenters.
• Develop scripts, playbooks, and pipelines for automated provisioning of network devices and services.
• Integrate Brokkr with network management systems and vendor equipment APIs.
• Troubleshoot L2 and L3 incidents using automation-based remediation and improve network performance and uptime.
• Enforce network security policies through configuration automation and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and systems engineers to scale bare metal resources and design fault-tolerant network solutions.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Netmiko, and NAPALM.
• Hands-on experience managing Cumulus, SONiC, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, MikroTik, or similar network equipment.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPN, NAT, DHCP, DNS, REST APIs, SNMP, CI/CD, and Linux networking.
• Citizenship and permanent-residency information must be provided for U.S. export-control compliance.

Nice to have

• CCNA, CCNP, or DevNet Associate/Professional certification.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code practices for networking.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or NetBox.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and proactive working skills.
