Director of Product Management - Hardware

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define long-term product strategies, roadmaps, milestones, and investment priorities for chip-based technologies.
• Identify new market applications, validate customer needs and product-market fit, and expand the addressable market beyond traditional telecommunications.
• Translate customer and market insights into product requirements, prioritized backlogs, and commercially viable solutions.
• Partner with ASIC, PIC, and other engineering teams to influence technical direction and deliver high-quality products.
• Own product outcomes including adoption, market validation, commercial viability, and long-term revenue contribution.
• Evaluate market size, pricing, unit economics, total cost of ownership, and commercialization risk.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience in semiconductor or chip-based product development and commercialization.
• Experience bringing semiconductor technologies to commercially successful, high-volume products.
• Strong understanding of data networking, semiconductor technologies, chip-to-system integration, and technical product requirements.
• Experience owning product roadmaps, driving cross-functional execution, and translating customer needs into product direction.
• Strong analytical, commercial, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• MBA.
• Experience building products for telecom operators or large infrastructure customers.
• Experience with semiconductor products in telecommunications, automotive, robotics, or other high-volume commercial industries.
• Familiarity with optical systems, wireless backhaul, silicon photonics, or high-speed communications.
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
