Outreach Specialist (Telecommunications)

Location: Reno, Nevada; candidates must live in the Reno/Washoe County area or nearby counties. This is a field- and office-based role with up to 70% travel across Northern Nevada and occasional travel to Southern Nevada. Scheduled office hours are 8 AM–5 PM, with a one-hour lunch break.

Salary: $58,000–$68,000 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct in-person and virtual customer outreach for the Reach Nevada Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program.
• Assess telecommunications needs, complete applications, collect documentation, verify eligibility, and respond to customer inquiries.
• Provide hands-on guidance, technical assistance, installation instructions, and equipment demonstrations for specialized telecommunications devices.
• Operate the program’s mobile van for site visits, mobile consultations, community events, and regional outreach.
• Plan outreach activities, presentations, training materials, partnerships, and regional travel based on program goals and service gaps.
• Maintain consumer, outreach, inventory, and grant-reporting records in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Therap, or designated CRM platforms.

Requirements

• Residency in the Reno/Washoe County area or nearby counties is required.
• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in public-facing customer service, community outreach, human services, or intake operations.
• At least one year of experience in program operations or project management and working with Deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or disabled individuals.
• American Sign Language communication ability is required.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for operating the mobile vehicle and traveling to regional events.
• Strong communication, presentation, partner engagement, organization, data-entry, recordkeeping, and independent-work skills.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Therap, Smartsheet, Trello, or Asana.
• Knowledge of telecommunications access issues and resources for Deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, and disabled communities.
