Research Statistician II (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates near hirify.global offices may choose hybrid work with in-office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional business travel to hirify.global offices is required.

Salary: $76,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Execute SAT Suite pretesting analyses, including data extraction, classical item analysis, and item response theory analysis.
• Perform recurring psychometric maintenance analyses for SAT Suite scores and generate and quality-control statistical reports.
• Compile and quality-control sections of client-facing technical analysis reports for routine and ad hoc delivery.
• Develop, maintain, and update data management and statistical analysis code for operational processes.
• Improve operational workflows and contribute to Python-based tools that increase efficiency, scalability, and systems integration.
• Collaborate with psychometricians, test development, technology, and other cross-functional teams while managing blockers and delivery status.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, psychometrics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in statistical programming, data analysis, or psychometric operations in a production or operational setting.
• Proficiency in Python and R, including independent development and maintenance of complex projects.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and with psychometrics, educational measurement, or standardized testing.
• Ability to work independently, manage time-sensitive deliverables, identify issues early, and maintain high accuracy under pressure.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required. Ability to travel 2–4 times per year for hirify.global business is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAS and other advanced statistical or psychometric software.
• Familiarity with item analysis, calibration, and scaling.
• Willingness to use AI tools, large language models, code-generation assistants, and AI-enabled data workflows.
