Instructional Designer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, nationwide within the United States; Sacramento, California is listed as the corporate location.

Base salary: $64,970–$81,215 annually, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and develop accessible, learner-centered learning solutions across e-learning, instructor-led and virtual training, blended programs, job aids, simulations, assessments, video, and microlearning.
• Analyze learning and performance needs, define measurable objectives, recommend training or performance-support solutions, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Translate complex content into clear learning experiences by partnering with subject-matter experts and stakeholders.
• Create instructional strategies, storyboards, scripts, prototypes, practice activities, assessments, and evaluation approaches.
• Manage learning projects, including scope, timelines, reviews, approvals, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Upload, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and retire learning content in the LMS while supporting course assignments and delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, business, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in instructional design or learning content development.
• Experience applying adult-learning theory, learning science, and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or backward design.
• Proficiency with Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, for developing, updating, testing, and troubleshooting interactive learning content.
• Experience with LMS content management, course assignments, completion tracking, and course administration.
• Ability to apply accessibility and inclusive-design practices, including captions, alternative text, color contrast, keyboard accessibility, and accessible documents.

Nice to have

• Experience applying WCAG and accessibility standards to digital learning content.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable digital-media editing tools.
• Experience using learning analytics, learner feedback, assessment data, or performance data to improve learning solutions.
• A portfolio demonstrating accessible, learner-centered solutions across multiple modalities.
