Senior Data Engineer

Location: New York, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring work from the office a minimum of four days per week; an in-person interview may be required.

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, testable data systems and pipelines.
• Build data ingestion, processing, storage, real-time, and automated batch implementations using internal and external data sources.
• Prepare high-quality features and access data at the appropriate granularity for analytical and modeling projects.
• Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements, KPIs, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with software and data architects to integrate data science solutions into streaming service architecture.
• Lead or participate in design reviews, peer reviews, architecture discussions, knowledge sharing, and incident diagnosis using observability systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with big data, ETL, pipeline development, analysis, and programming.
• Experience building scalable, distributed, highly available, and resilient systems with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, or AWS.
• Strong SQL and data processing skills, plus experience with data visualization.
• Experience with software repositories, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and SRE practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

Nice to have

• Production exposure to CDNs for streaming media delivery; training can be provided.
• Experience with multi-billion-record datasets and projects spanning data science and data engineering.
• Knowledge of enterprise-level digital analytics platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar data services.
