Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Salary: $155,000–$192,000 annually, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Manage large-scale Redshift and PostgreSQL data platforms across RDS, Aurora, Redshift, EnterpriseDB, and community editions.
• Own the full database lifecycle, including new builds, upgrades, migrations, and retirement.
• Design and maintain high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, backup, and restore processes.
• Build automation, monitoring, observability, documentation, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
• Develop Python and shell scripts, procedures, and processes for data migration and application development.
• Partner with data engineering, application development, and product teams on platform and product design.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States for this remote role.
• 7+ years of experience working in AWS cloud environments in a similar role.
• Strong experience building and operating complex Redshift deployments.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform.
• Deep proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience tuning SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, CI/CD, Linux, observability, data governance, and cloud data platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
• Knowledge of data lakehouse patterns, including Iceberg and Delta Lake, vector stores, and graph databases.
• Experience with database design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, documentation, and system diagramming.
• Knowledge of practical AI applications in database management.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or a related discipline.
