Staff Software Engineer, Mid Market Intelligence (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $202,500–$274,000 per year, with potential eligibility for cash bonuses, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement intelligent, AI-native workflows from concept through production.
• Develop agentic systems using LLM orchestration, multi-agent architectures, retrieval, tool use, and function calling.
• Build automation and human-in-the-loop experiences with approvals, explainability, evaluation, safety, and observability.
• Contribute to the architecture of the Mid-Market intelligence platform and develop high-scale distributed systems.
• Drive instrumentation, offline evaluations, online experimentation, defect resolution, and production quality.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical alignment with product management, design, and other business units.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years architecting and developing high-scale distributed systems and web applications.
• Strong applied AI experience across traditional machine learning and Generative AI, including production AI systems.
• Strong design and coding skills in Java and Python, plus experience with Spark/PySpark, Kafka, feature stores, or vector stores.
• Experience with RAG, prompt and context engineering, multi-agent systems, evaluation and guardrail frameworks, and AI quality monitoring.
• Experience with test automation, TDD, integration testing, relational database design, technical leadership, and mentoring.
