Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; hybrid working environment with in-office and in-person expectations

Salary: $227,800–$338,800 USD annually, with final compensation based on location, qualifications, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Define architecture covering service boundaries, data models, API contracts, runtime design, and AI-to-enterprise integration patterns.
• Build agent orchestration, knowledge bases, enterprise-data retrieval, tool-calling, and multi-cloud execution systems.
• Develop reliable customer-facing APIs, SDKs, and tooling.
• Lead design reviews, engineering standards, technical execution, and delivery quality.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical bar.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience.
• 7+ years designing fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud architectures and cloud-native services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong server-side engineering experience with Node, Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Production experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and SQL or NoSQL-backed services.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud security, authentication and authorization, encryption, and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agents or LLM-powered products with tool calling, RAG, and prompt orchestration.
• Knowledge of agentic design patterns, context management, multi-step reasoning, and grounding models in enterprise data.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Background in enterprise infrastructure, cloud data services, or storage systems.
• Previous experience as a principal engineer or technical lead.
