Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote from Argentina; approximately 12-month contract with reasonable availability for coordination with a distributed US- and Canada-based team.

What you will do

• Build, modify, and maintain web application features using Ruby on Rails and React.
• Write clean, maintainable, and documented code aligned with established architectural patterns.
• Maintain RESTful APIs and update PostgreSQL schemas and data models.
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests using tools such as RSpec and Jest.
• Collaborate through code reviews, standups, and technical discussions with engineering, Product, and Design partners.
• Participate in a shared support rotation, diagnosing and resolving application issues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience contributing production code.
• Experience contributing to projects and helping drive them to completion.
• Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python; Ruby is preferred.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including React, and experience working across the full stack.
• Experience with REST/web development, architectural patterns, and close collaboration with Product and Design.
• Direct experience with AI and agentic software development; Rails experience is preferred.

• Experience with authorization and permissions.
