Principal Mobile Engineer (POS Terminal)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of POS terminal solutions across Android Native and cross-platform environments.
• Design secure, scalable, performant systems integrating payment technologies, EMV standards, hardware, and payment processors.
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, and engineering best practices.
• Develop and lead POS-related mobile applications, including applications supporting repair scheduling and maintenance.
• Monitor system stability, troubleshoot production issues, and improve payment-processing performance and security.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, support hiring, and collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in system design, architecture, and development within the POS terminal domain.
• Strong Android Native development experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with cross-platform mobile development such as Flutter; familiarity with C and JavaScript is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, encryption, key management, and chip-based transactions.
• Experience integrating POS hardware such as card readers, PIN pads, printers, and other peripherals.
• Knowledge of payment systems architecture, software quality assurance, complex system interactions, technical communication, and engineering leadership.
