Senior Data Scientist (Agentic Conversational AI)

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Deliver agentic conversational AI capabilities for banking IVR solutions built on Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex.
• Run experiments and analyze intent recognition, slot-filling, utterance handling, model outputs, and conversational quality.
• Tune intent descriptions, training data, prompts, and other NLU assets to improve performance.
• Evaluate and implement LLM- and GenAI-based capabilities for NLU and intent understanding.
• Collaborate with the onshore lead to refine conversation behavior, slot-filling approaches, and delivery priorities.
• Prepare performance findings and recommendations for leadership and project stakeholders while managing delivery risks and issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, NLP, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience building GenAI solutions.
• Hands-on experience with analytics, experimentation, model evaluation, and performance tuning.
• Experience with conversational AI, NLU, chatbots, virtual assistants, or IVR use cases.
• Strong familiarity with Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex, or comparable conversational AI platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical work to leadership and partner teams.

Nice to have

• Production experience tuning intent classification, slot filling, fallback handling, or dialogue behavior.
• Strong Python and data analysis skills for experimentation, reporting, and model evaluation.
• Experience with prompt-based evaluation or LLM-assisted NLU workflows.
• Experience in cross-functional delivery teams using onshore/offshore collaboration models.
