Web Designer, Brand Web Experience (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Base salary: $174,200–$217,800 USD per year for eligible full-time positions in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

What you will do

• Design responsive website layouts, page templates, graphics, and interactive UI patterns, primarily for scale.com.
• Create reusable design components, patterns, and systems for consistent and efficient web production.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups based on business goals, brand direction, and user needs.
• Partner with web engineers on design specifications, implementation reviews, and high-quality production execution.
• Apply responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance principles across devices and screen sizes.
• Explore AI-powered tools, rapid prototyping, and emerging interaction patterns while iterating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in web design, digital design, visual design, or a related field, with a portfolio of shipped digital experiences.
• Proficiency in Figma for design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, typography, layout systems, accessibility, interaction design, and modern web UI/UX.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, including how designs translate into production websites and reusable components.
• Ability to balance speed and craft, manage competing priorities, communicate clearly, and collaborate with design, engineering, marketing, and brand partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion graphics, animations, micro-interactions, web analytics, experimentation, user research, data visualization, or technical graphics.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, Vercel, headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, AEM, Adobe Creative Cloud, or Canva.
• Experience designing flexible modular page templates and using AI-assisted design, prototyping, or vibe-coding tools.
• Interest in the AI industry and understanding of Scale's mission and products.
