Mechanical CAD Designer Internship

Location: Shakopee, Minnesota, United States; onsite at the corporate headquarters

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support mechanical engineering and product development projects for systems that print and personalize secure identity documents and payment cards.
• Create and modify solid models of mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Create, review, and update part drawings.
• Develop solutions for design problems and provide technical recommendations.
• Prototype and test designs, participate in design reviews, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams under engineering direction.

Requirements

• Pursuing an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Design or an equivalent program.
• Experience with solid modeling.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and hands-on mechanical skills.
• Interest in product design and ability to work effectively in an interactive cross-functional team.
• Commitment to learning and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks 3-D solid modeling experience.
• Knowledge of injection-molded plastic-part design, sheet metal, machining, and mechanical or electromechanical products.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
