Manager, Software Engineering

Location: San Mateo, California, United States. Telecommuting and working from home may be permissible under company policies; the role may also be subject to a hybrid working policy.

Salary: $274,971–$302,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead delivery of common libraries supporting multiple projects and platforms.
• Own the technical roadmap and lead infrastructure-focused engineering projects.
• Improve services and infrastructure through root cause analysis and incident resolution.
• Create deployment automation and enhance infrastructure autoscaling for increasing traffic and storage pressure.
• Implement and operate high-volume, highly available messaging clusters and monitoring systems.
• Develop tools that reduce engineer troubleshooting time and improve infrastructure visibility.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience working with development teams, service improvements, infrastructure changes, and incident resolution.
• Experience with Kafka, Zookeeper, Kubernetes, Jenkins, HashiCorp Consul, package management, monitoring, and certificate and identity management systems.
• Experience setting up monitoring and dashboards with Splunk and Yamas, including local metric exporters and cluster-state visibility.
• Experience with Chef, Screwdriver v2/v3, Pogo, Artifactory, and Git.
