Manager, Software Engineering

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; telecommuting or working from home may be permissible under company policies, with hybrid working arrangements referenced.

Base pay: $274,971–$302,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead delivery of common libraries supporting multiple projects and platforms.
• Own the technical roadmap for the engineering area.
• Improve services and infrastructure through root cause analysis and incident resolution.
• Develop deployment automation and enhance infrastructure autoscaling for increasing network traffic and storage demand.
• Implement and maintain high-volume, highly available messaging clusters and monitoring systems.
• Lead development of tools that reduce engineering troubleshooting time and improve infrastructure visibility.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience working with development teams and improving services and infrastructure.
• Experience with Kafka-based Pub/Sub systems, Kafka and Zookeeper clusters, Kubernetes, and HashiCorp Consul.
• Experience with Splunk monitoring, dashboards, local metric exporters, and cluster-state visibility.
• Experience with Chef, Screwdriver v2/v3, Jenkins, Pogo, Artifactory, Git, package management, and certificate and identity management systems.
• Ability to work in or be based near San Mateo, California, under the applicable hybrid and telecommuting policies.
