Senior Data Platform Developer (AI Platform)

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada; other locations include Atlanta and Toronto. Flexible hybrid work model with in-person and virtual work supported.

Annual base salary: $116,200–$155,000 USD.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain data infrastructure platforms for ingestion, processing, and stream processing within the internal data lake.
• Build scalable processes to enrich big data with telematics data.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to maintain infrastructure health.
• Work with data scientists to translate data processing needs into infrastructure solutions.
• Document architecture, requirements, and process flows.
• Support internal teams with data integration and participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule when applicable.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• 1–5 years of experience developing production systems with Java and Spring.
• 1–3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining containerized production applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Knowledge of data management, data storage, batch and streaming architectures, API design, and Big Data environments such as Google BigQuery.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Ignite, Apache Airflow, Apache SuperSet, Apache Olingo, or DataHub.
• Knowledge of gRPC, Protobuf, Apache Avro, or Apache Beam.
