Manager, Network Applications Engineering

Location: Hybrid in Naperville, Illinois, United States; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD base pay per year.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, architecture, engineering, and transformation of enterprise network application services across on-premises, cloud, and data center environments.
• Lead engineering teams responsible for application delivery, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, load balancing, secure access, and network security platforms.
• Define network engineering standards, low-level designs, technology roadmaps, and technical lifecycle plans.
• Manage budgets, procurement, proof-of-concept activities, service transitions, and operational handovers.
• Provide escalation support for complex major incidents, including on-call coverage and extended-hours support when required.
• Prepare performance, audit, and compliance reports and liaise with technical teams and senior management.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in network engineering within global enterprise-scale organizations across traditional data centers and cloud environments.
• At least 5 years of experience leading or managing teams.
• Hands-on experience designing and building resilient, scalable security solutions, preferably in financial services or investment banking.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, risk and compliance, Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4–7 networking and security technologies.
• Experience with automation, orchestration, API scripting, monitoring, observability, health checks, and change management.
• ITIL v3 Foundation or higher, relevant vendor certifications, or equivalent working experience, including AWS and Azure cloud knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with NGFW platforms, Tufin, network access control, secure web gateways, Zero-Trust Network Access, SASE, and application delivery or load-balancing platforms.
• Experience with Cisco or Arista routing and switching, SD-WAN, DNS, IPAM, DHCP, ServiceNow integrations, and AWS or Azure networking.
• Knowledge of Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Forescout, Cisco ISE, F5, Infoblox, CyberArk, Illumio, or Zscaler.
• Understanding of potential applications of quantum technologies and AI in network infrastructure.
