Production Engineer (Hydrogen)

What you will do

• Support daily plant operations to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Solve operational, process, and equipment-related issues across the Botlek site.
• Coordinate activities with maintenance, engineering, operators, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor plant performance and lead productivity, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Management of Change, audits, inspections, and compliance activities, including follow-up from incident investigations.
• Support commissioning and start-up of new installations, including hydrogen and energy transition projects, and act as deputy for the Plant Supervisor when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• Significant experience in commissioning, operations, production, or engineering within the chemical, industrial gas, refinery, or oil and gas industry.
• Experience with industrial gas or large-scale chemical processes, such as hydrogen, syngas, carbon monoxide, or ammonia.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English; English proficiency is required.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP familiarity is advantageous.
• Structured, hands-on, analytical, and problem-solving approach with a strong focus on safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
