Commissioning Engineer – Power Distribution (F/M/X)

Location: The Hague, Netherlands; on-site work with extensive travel across EMEA, including Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Relocation to the Netherlands is required for international project assignments.

What you will do

• Perform testing and commissioning of medium-voltage power distribution equipment and associated protection systems.
• Verify the functionality, performance, safety, and technical compliance of electrical installations before customer handover.
• Conduct electrical tests, troubleshoot commissioning issues, and support resolution of technical problems.
• Upload and verify pre-configured protection relay settings and perform functional testing of protection systems.
• Coordinate on-site activities with clients, site supervisors, installation subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Document test results, report issues, and support safe and efficient technical handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power engineering focus, or an equivalent vocational qualification with substantial relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning, especially medium-voltage systems and switchgear.
• Knowledge of electrical testing methods, protection relays, functional testing, and troubleshooting of electrical installations.
• Good command of English; English is the working language on-site.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively and work abroad for extended periods.
• EU passport and willingness to relocate to the Netherlands are required for international project assignments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens NXR or 8DJH equipment.
• Experience with Omicron test equipment.
• Background in data centers, substations, utilities, or industrial power distribution.
