Software Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: Must be willing and able to work in Vancouver, Burnaby, or Richmond, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CA$40–CA$45 per hour

hirify.global develops collaboration software including Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket, helping teams coordinate and deliver work.

What you will do

• Design and code new features that can be shipped directly into hirify.global products.
• Contribute to full-lifecycle product development within the engineering organization.
• Support initiatives that help customers move to the cloud.
• Develop AI-powered features and solutions that improve collaboration experiences at scale.
• Work with senior engineers and contribute to a unified R&D team.

Requirements

• Availability for a 15-week, full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship during Summer 2027 or Fall 2027.
• Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, and returning to the program after the internship.
• Expected graduation by August 2028.
• Programming proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and practical problem-solving.
• Employer sponsorship for work authorization is not available at the time of hire.

Nice to have

• Software engineering experience from internships, work experience, personal projects, open-source contributions, or technical publications.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning frameworks, MCP, or agentic AI.
• Basic understanding of software architecture and common design patterns.
