Senior Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Base pay: $220,500–$298,500 per year

What you will do

• Drive significant technology initiatives across multiple architectural layers.
• Architect and develop scalable, secure, maintainable applications and systems.
• Define best practices for application, platform, and developer-tool development.
• Work with global, cross-functional teams across time zones and communicate with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to enhance applications with AI and launch AI integrations in production.
• Coach junior engineers and evaluate AI impact using software performance and user-satisfaction metrics.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise-class applications.
• Proficiency in Java and strong knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, scalable application development, and relational database design.
• Experience with test automation, including TDD, unit, integration, functional, and performance testing.
• Experience with microservices, containers, Kubernetes or similar systems, CI/CD, SQL and NoSQL databases, analytics, and cloud environments.
• Experience building or integrating AI models, including LLM prompting or AutoML, and monitoring AI performance in production.
