Staff Software Engineer - Backend (AI)

Salary: $192,000–$260,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Prioritize, design, implement, test, and operate microservices for the Databricks platform and products.
• Build data pipelines using Apache Spark and Apache Kafka.
• Integrate services with third-party applications and cloud APIs across AWS, Azure, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Architect and operate large-scale distributed systems that process exabytes of data and manage millions of virtual machines.
• Contribute to infrastructure for machine learning, compute, storage, observability, service management, enterprise platforms, or core cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of production-level experience with Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
• Experience architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with SaaS platforms or service-oriented architectures.
• Good knowledge of SQL and experience with software security and systems handling sensitive data.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
