Policy Communications Lead, Europe (Technology Policy)

What you will do

• Lead hirify.global’s proactive policy media narrative across Europe, with the ability to support emerging markets on other continents.
• Translate policy strategy and complex issues into clear public narratives on privacy, security, AI, open source, competition, and internet regulation.
• Develop thought leadership content, including press releases, blog posts, policy statements, op-eds, speeches, regulatory submissions, and executive briefings.
• Advise communications colleagues and senior leaders on proactive and reactive policy communications, product initiatives, launches, and advocacy campaigns.
• Build relationships with journalists, policymakers, industry representatives, advocates, thought leaders, and technology influencers.
• Prepare spokespeople for high-stakes engagements through message development, media training, and issue briefings, while supporting crisis and risk communications.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in policy communications, media relations, or related roles, ideally in technology, advocacy, or policy-driven environments.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex issues into clear, urgent, and actionable narratives.
• Deep knowledge of technology policy, including privacy, data, AI, competition, digital rights, open source, and internet regulation.
• Experience building relationships with journalists, policymakers, and policy-focused organizations globally.
• Experience advising senior executives on high-profile communications and issues management.
• Experience supporting product communications and collaborating with marketing, legal, product, engineering, communications, and external agency teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in both in-house and agency settings.
• French or German language skills.
• Experience in open-source, civil society, or non-profit technology environments.
