Data Engineer (Lisbon-Portugal)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal. Hybrid working model with the possibility to work remotely up to 50% of the working time.

What you will do

• Design and develop data pipelines and products in SQL and PySpark, from ingestion to analytics-ready tables.
• Create dimensional data models, including Kimball-style star schemas, for analysts and Power BI reports.
• Implement business-rule-based data-quality tests, investigate failed loads, and improve reliability.
• Tune jobs, evolve schemas and pipelines, reduce compute costs, and improve the existing codebase.
• Document data products and engineering work in the project Git repository.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience with PySpark or Python in a data-engineering context.
• Solid data-modeling knowledge, including Kimball-style star schemas.
• Approximately 3–6 years of hands-on data-engineering experience and the autonomy to own work from source to reporting-ready data.
• Collaborative mindset, clear communication skills, and comfort working in the gaming industry.
• Professional English and availability to work in the hybrid Lisbon, Portugal model.

Nice to have

• Power BI experience with semantic modeling, reporting, or governance.
• Experience with data mesh or another decentralized data organization.
• Airflow or a similar orchestration tool.
• Automated data-quality testing with Great Expectations, Soda, or dbt tests.
